EcoCastulum is constituted as a multidisciplinary team of professionals, with the objective of giving companies the necessary support to circularize their by-products and industrial processes, developing new materials or products, as well as the substantial technological improvement of pre-existing processes or systems, so that the environmental impact of the current ones is reduced, reducing the use of natural reserves and the approach to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Location
We are inside the Linare Scientific-Technological Campuss, one of the two campuses of the University of Jaén. These are facilities that bring together buildings typical of the development of the teaching and research work of the university with that of an incipient business fabric in buildings destined to house leading companies in their sector together with incubators and incubators for other incipient business initiatives. All this allows the coexistence of the university and the company in a unique ecosystem for the transfer of knowledge and experience from the university to the company and vice versa.

EcoCastulum is an associate member of the Cluster for Sustainable Mining and Associated Services of the Iberian Peninsula (ISMC), which brings together more than 60 companies and organizations and approximately 1,900 employees from the mining sector and its associated services. The objective of the cluster is to join forces and attract relevant players from the mining value chain throughout the national territory to promote sustainability and circularity while fostering growth, competitiveness and innovation.

Identification and quantification of chemical elements, through X-ray fluorescence and study of thermal processes.
X-ray diffraction
It allows the identification of crystalline phases under different working conditions and angles, for crystalline and amorphous samples.

Viewing and capturing stereoscopic and microscopic images, as well as viewing and editing 3D images.

Observation of the different phases in the sample with semi-quantitative elemental microanalysis and X-ray mapping.
